Heredity, race and culture impact to headaches

Naturally, many people want to know whether or not migraines and headaches are passed down from one generation to another. There exists some evidence showing that it does, which there also exists the others claiming it doesn’t. If none of your family member is affected from migraines, it doesn’t mean that you’ll never experience migraine. Similarly, if both your parents have migraines then although your chances of experiencing migraine are quite higher, it’s not sure that you’ll be experiencing migraine one day. There are numbers of reasons affecting this. If you are having allergic type of migraines, you may have inherited a gene which is responsible in making you allergic with the same thing as any of your parents. However, it’s usually hard to figure out what we can blame at genetic inheritance as well as what can be blamed at upbringing. Obviously, genes are not responsible for everything else. There are many things that we learn from our parent, apart from the genes. Stress arrives with the headache of all kinds and is something that we cannot ignore because there are so many things in this world that usually stress us. Some people gain ability to deal with the stress perfectly and eventually keep on eliminating their stress throughout their life. However, other people don’t gain such coping skills and techniques, and are often strongly affected by specific events. You can teach coping skills to your children even though you have never tried them before. Naturally, children usually follow us and grab up hints and tips. They learn the better way to behave in our guidance and supervision.  If they notice us responding severely to stress, the chances are that they also respond severely when face such circumstances. Therefore, as it’s almost clear that children by nature pick up the habits of their parents, it is quite better if parents adopt a good and calm habit of responding to stress when necessary.

There isn’t any present evidence suggesting that people of different races acquires headache of different kinds, although the differences can be easily seen between the people according to their culture. The kinds of stress one experiences can differ, coping styles may vary across cultures, and above all, eating habits vary. For instance, MSG (monosodium glutamate) can be higher in Chinese food. For your kind information, MSG is a chemical that has been strongly claimed to cause headaches. So it’s obvious that your odds of having headaches tend to be higher if you prefer eating Chinese foods quite often. Moreover, it is believed that Asian people or African-Caribbean people are not facing too much problem due to headaches as European people do.
